Institute for Patient Care Bi-annual Symposium
In 2011 the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute for Patient Care offered an educational symposium for healthcare professionals across disciplines. Due to the success of the inaugural event, the Institute for Patient Care hosted symposia in 2013 and 2015, focusing on MGH's innovative care delivery redesign and tackling the topic of the future of healthcare.
Stay tuned for the symposium in 2017.

PCA Education Series
Once per month, the Norman Knight Nursing Center offeres a learning event called the PCA Education Series. These 1-hour presentations provide clinical knowledge for the PCA about the most patient illnesses to promote a high quality of care and a sense of inquiry. The series promotes professional growth and development by offering timely and relevant topics by content experts.

Simulation
The Knight Simulation Program in The Institute for Patient Care at MGH offers nursing and interdisciplinary educational programs to promote patient safety and excellence in clinical care. Each simulation program addresses the overall themes of leadership, communication, teamwork, decision-making, and application of clinical knowledge and skills. A faculty guided debriefing focusing on both the clinical and behavioral aspects of performance is included in each program.

In addition to offering recurring programs (hyperlink to program listing), the Knight Simulation Program faculty can be consulted to develop individualized programs to meet unique learning needs for groups of participants.

The series was named ORACLE, Operating Room Assistants’ Cooperative Learning Experiences, and have been offered once a month for ORAs ever since. To date, topics covered include: infection control, ergonomics, quality and safety, teamwork, diversity.
