Central Onboarding is conducted and facilitated by the Norman Knight Nursing Center for Clinical and Professional Development in collaboration with unit-based leadership and other clinical experts from across the MGH community.
Staff in the Norman Knight Nursing Center value the process of integrating a new employee into the Patient Care Services Department. Studies have shown that strong foundations and strong connections at the beginning of a work experience make for happier employees and stronger teams.
There is a 3-step process for onboarding new employees.
Central onboarding includes didactic presentations, skills training, online learning, and independent activities, as well as introduction to the Professional Practice Model/Environment, the Magnet framework, Innovation, and our commitment to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for our patients, families, and staff.
New employees are assigned to orientation sessions by Human Resources
