INFORMATION FOR ABSTRACT AUTHORS
SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT FOR NURSING RESEARCH DAY
All MGH nurses and external faculty Nurse Scientists (appointed through the Munn Center for Nursing Research) are invited to submit abstracts for consideration for the interactive poster session. There are three categories for abstract submission, and abstract templates and exemplar are available on the "Abstract Categories" page.
Abstracts are due on January 16, 2018
- Original Research: The purpose of research is to generate new knowledge within the broader scientific community to produce knowledge that is generalizable beyond the study sample.
- Evidenced- Based Practice: The purpose of EBP is to evaluate evidence along a continuum to identify the strongest or best evidence to guide nursing practice within an organizational setting and with a specific patient population.
- Quality Improvement Project: The purpose of a QI project is to improve internal processes and practices within a specific patient group or organization.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
**Policy for IRB Review (INCLUDING QUALITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS)**
- Formal IRB review is required for all Original Research studies (see Partners Human Research website): http://navigator.partners.org
- All authors submitting a Quality Improvement Project must carefully review and complete the Clinical Quality Improvement/Measurement Checklist to determine if your project requires review from the IRB. - Abstracts must be submitted using the required abstract template available on this site (see abstract categories: Original Research, EBP or QI) even if you already have a poster created for another meeting, or you have previously submitted this abstract.
- Please do not submit pdfs of abstracts or posters that were submitted to other conferences.
